Professor joins minority engagement panel
Thunderbird Professor Nivien Saleh, Ph.D. is in The Hague, Netherlands, this week as an expert panelist for a conference that aims to bring insight into minority engagement in constitution building processes. Saleh will participate in a panel discussion on how advancements in new media and communication technologies are impacting democratic processes. Information technology was the topic of Saleh’s dissertation, which was published as a book, Third World Citizens and the Information Technology Revolution. She also researches the Middle East and ways of democratizing global governance. This year, Saleh translated the 2012 Constitution of Egypt into English. This week’s conference is being organized by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance in partnership with Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
